What if I return the CrateHub crates early, can I get a discount?Sorry, no, we don’t offer discounts on early returns. We’ve reserved the CrateHub crates and moving supplies for you for the full rental period.

How do I pay?You can pay with your credit/debit card online using our secure checkout or we can take your payment information over the phone. All transactions are processed securely through Stripe.

What if I don’t use all of my boxes, can I get reimbursed?If they are ordered for storage only, then yes, just return what you don’t use during your initial pickup. However, if you are renting them for a move, there is no reimbursement for not using all of them. While we’re happy to provide you with any number of CrateHub crates and packing supplies you might need, once they’re in your hands, that’s all we can do. The best advice is to plan correctly to ensure you order the right quantity of boxes and supplies. Be sure to read our pricing details page for suggestions on how many boxes to order. You can always give us a call if you’re really unsure how many boxes you should order.

Do you have a cancellation fee?You can cancel with 24 hour notice without any charge. Cancellations made after (or no-shows) require at a $30 cancellation fee.

Do you charge me an hourly rate for the labor to pick up or deliver my items?NO. We never charge unpredictable hourly rates that are subjectively based on how fast or slow a driver might choose to work. We charge a fee for the trip, and a per item fee for the delivery, so you know what to expect in advance and it doesn’t vary from driver to driver or delivery to delivery.

Is there a charge for deliveries?Unlike many of our competitors, we do not charge an unpredictable, arbitrary hourly rate. Initial storage pickups are free. Deliveries and repeat pickups are charged a small trip charge plus a simple, predictable, per item fee.

What is the cost?We keep the pricing simple. Our storage plans are priced per month, and you only pay for what you need to store the quantity of boxes you choose. Storage crates are free to use, initial pickups are free, and deliveries and repeat pickups are on a simple, predictable, per item basis. All storage plans have a minimum storage duration of 1 months, but you can get your stuff back whenever you want. If you need an item back before the 6 months are up, we’ll just charge you for the remaining time. Crates are free as long as they are returned at the end (there is a cleaning fee upon their return). You may also choose to purchase the crates if you wish.

Can I use CrateHub crates if I want to hire a moving company?Absolutely! It’s actually quite common, our crates are used by moving companies frequently, and it will save you money. You won’t have to pay inflated cardboard box prices from your moving company, or pay your movers $50 an hour to assemble the cardboard boxes before they can start packing. We’ll drop everything off before the movers arrive, allowing your mover to start packing and moving right away – saving you on the hourly labor rate.

What are the crate dimensions?CrateHub crates are generously sized, but small enough to be easily handled either by hand, on our moving dolly, or with our hand trucks. The outside crate dimensions are 27″ in length, 17″ in width and 12″ high, with a total capacity of 2.5 cubic feet. Simply put – they fit a lot of stuff!

What CrateHub crates, boxes and moving supplies does CrateHub offer?We rent or sell almost all the crates, moving boxes and moving supplies you’ll need for your move. Our moving supplies include: file boxes, wardrobe boxes, moving dollies, and packing supplies like packing paper, bubble wrap, moving blankets, and extra packing labels.

What do the CrateHub crates, boxes, and moving supplies cost?Complete rental packages start at only $49 delivered. Is there a weight limit for boxes and crates?Yes! For your safety and ours, the below limits are in place. If an item exceeds the limit, we will ask you to repack some of the contents into a second box/crate or remove some items. Plastic Crates- 50 lbs Wardrobe Boxes- 70 lbs File Boxes- 35 lbs Custom or Client Supplied Boxes- 50 lbs or less, depending on structure and size of box. (For Storage only) This will be completely at the driver’s discretion, who has the experience and training to determine safe limits.

What if I want to add more crates to my order after the first delivery?No problem at all! Just let us know how many more moving crates you need, as well as any additional packing supplies or moving equipment, and we’ll deliver them ASAP. Additional crates are charged based on the package price difference, plus an additional delivery fee of $30.

How can I confirm my drop off and pickup times?When placing your order you select the drop off and pick up times that work for you. We’ll send you an email confirming your order, and we’ll contact you the evening before your scheduled drop off or pick up to confirm the exact arrival time so you’re never left in the dark. You can also contact us if you have questions.

What if my drop off or pick up address has stairs?Standard delivery of our plastic crates and packing supplies is to a ground floor address or a ground floor elevator. Drop off or pickups locations with stairs (and no elevator) will require an additional fee of $35 for rental crate deliveries and pickups. Empty storage crates (pickup or delivery) have no additional stair charges. Full plastic crates for storage will require an additional $3.00 per crate per floor for stair carries.

Can you pick up the crates early if I’m done before my rental is up?You bet. We’re happy to help clear your space so you can move in. Just contact us and we’ll coordinate a time to pick everything up.

Can my child/roommate/friend sign for my delivery?Yes, you can designate any one of a number of individuals to be present, so long as they meet the required criteria. You can authorize someone over the age of 18 to sign for your delivery. They will be signing the delivery paperwork on your behalf and ensuring the order is accurate. Make sure the individual signing for delivery knows exactly what was ordered so they can go over the delivery with our representative and sign off on the paperwork in confidence.

What if I don’t show up for a drop off or pickup?That would really make us sad. We understand that your time is valuable, and take every precaution to ensure that we’re there on time for deliveries. We only ask that you take the same consideration for our time. If you don’t show up for a scheduled pick up or drop off, there will be an additional fee of $30 for each additional drop off or pick up required.

How should I prepare for my pick up?Pack all your boxes carefully (we are not responsible for improper packing, so please use caution). Do NOT seal your boxes, as our driver will be viewing the contents to make sure no prohibited items are included, and photographing the open containers for you for future reference.

Can I access or drop off my items at your facility?Yes! You can make an appointment with at least 48 hour notice. For drop offs, we will process the items upon your arrival and bring them into storage for you. For pickups, we will pull your items and have them ready for you upon your arrival. Once you sign for the items, you can take them with you. Please note, we will charge 50% of the per item delivery rate for an access, allowing you to save quite a bit of cost for pickups over requesting a delivery. Due to space constraints, if you plan on opening anything and giving it back to us for storage, please do not do this with more than 5 crates or boxes on premises, and please let us know IN ADVANCE that you plan to do this.

Can you support my long-distance move?Sadly, we don’t support long-distance moves at this time. Because we’re a local company, there is simply no way to return moving crates from more distant areas of the state or the country. Please see our locations page for more information on the areas we serve.

Do you clean the plastic crates?Absolutely – keeping your goods clean is a top priority and we understand your need for cleanliness and safety. We take pride in our services and in ensuring that our plastic crates are thoroughly sanitized before they are sent on to a new customer. After each move, all plastic crates are thoroughly sanitized inside and out.

Can you also move my stuff?No, we do not offer moving services, but we’ll gladly provide a recommendation of movers we trust. Drop us a line or give us a call.

Should I tip my driver?No need! Our drivers are highly trained professionals, rigorously checked, and compensated appropriately to delivery safe, secure and reliable service.

Will you pack for me?We don’t offer packing and do not take responsibility for damage. Crates and boxes are moved via vehicle and warehouse by various people and vehicles, and thus can experience handling similar to shipping something by postal service or UPS. Therefore we highly recommend you pack items accordingly and use extreme care when packing fragile items. If we notice anything packed inappropriately prior to sealing the boxes, our driver may warn you. However, in all cases, you are responsible for proper packing to avoid breakage.

How safe is your facility? Is your warehouse secure?CrateHub's facility is designed to safely store, secure and protect the most sensitive documents and items. Your items are ONLY stored in our facilities and NEVER with a 3rd party. All facilities are monitored by camera 24/7, and have motion protection throughout the building.

What can I store?CrateHub is the leader in efficient Box storage. If it’s contained within a box or generally rectangular shaped container, we likely can store it. The standard sizes we provide are our plastic crates (which are included with your package), file boxes, and wardrobe boxes. If you have something already boxed or is rectangular in shape and stackable, email us a photo and we can confirm for you that it will work. If we can store it, we will let you know how many “plastic crates” it is equivalent to for purposes of including in a package. Regarding what you can store inside a box, we don’t store drugs, food or perishables, guns, explosives, flammables, plants, animals or hazardous items.

Finally, when you’re done moving, we’ll pick up the crates at your new place when it’s convenient for you. No more cardboard mess to recycle!

How early should I order my crates before my move?Most customers reserve their crates 1-2 weeks before their move to ensure everything is reserved, but we also accommodate deliveries with as little as 48 hour notice should you need it.

How do I cancel my order?Please contact us if you need to cancel your order or to arrange for a different drop off or pickup date and time. We understand that life sometimes throws curve-balls and we’re happy to either work out a different schedule or to cancel an order entirely. For a total refund, cancellations must be made a full 48 hours prior to the earliest original requested drop off date and time. We reserve the right to levy a 25% charge for orders cancelled without 24 hours’ notice. If an order is not cancelled, and we show up within the time slot requested, a $30 no-show fee will be charged.

Do you offer disposal or destruction of items that I no longer want to keep in storage?Yes! If you decide you no longer want certain items you are storing with us, you are welcome to ask for a quote on disposal. You will need to provide us with written (email is fine) authorization to open your boxes. Once we receive this, we will look at the contents and determine what can be disposed of via shredding, recycling and/or landfill. We will provide you a quote for this and then you can determine if you’d like us to dispose of the items or if you would prefer we return them to you for disposition.

How do I know nobody is going through my boxes?We use video surveillance monitoring to ensure that all of the stuff stored in our warehouse is safe and secure at all times and vehicles are tracked with GPS as well. We also provide tamper proof and serialized zip ties for your items for added comfort at no additional cost.

Do you insure my items?We do not provide additional insurance at this time regarding your items. You are welcome to seek your own insurance if you require additional protection.

How does the storage process work?We take all the hassle out of storing your boxes. We deliver your rental crates along with any boxes you require. We pick up, store and deliver your boxes when you need it. All of your boxes are bar coded, and you can photograph and manage them in your online account, where you can schedule pickups, deliveries and manage your account information.

When/ how do I get charged for storage?When you set up your account, you are charged your first month of storage along with any items you purchased for initial pickup. Once we drop off your empty crates (or pick up your boxes if no crates are being used), your account anniversary date is set. Each month thereafter, on that date, you will be charged your monthly storage fee for the following month. Storage is charged in full month increments…there are no refunds for partial months should you request to receive your items back early. Your account will stop being charged for storage (and the included crate rental) once your items have been returned AND all crates have been returned to us and all cleaning fees have been settled. You are welcome to take as long as you need to unpack, but keep in mind, if you continue to hold empty crates, your account will continue to stay open, and will get charged an additional month of storage on the anniversary date.

Is there a minimum storage term?No, unlike our competitors we do not have a minimum storage term. However, we charge by the month, so even if you store for less than a month, you'll be charged for the full month. Refunds are not offered.
